Person Index
This website and the information contained within represent several decades of research. Please do not plagiarise or wholesale copy and paste the data.
Records are displayed with a face indicating the person's sex and will be colour coded either blue (male) or pink (female).
The grey faces are used when a person would exist but does not exist in the records. This is typically seen when a person has unknown parents (as someone must have parents).
Please note the pictures are selected at random for variety and don't reflect actual appearance.
In the surname indexes you will find entries that look a bit like this:
A face indicates if the person is male or female. Then the person's SURNAME and given names are shown. If the person is deceased and has a known alias, that is then shown.
Below this, if the person is deceased, their birth year is shown to assist in telling people with similar names apart. Finally their status is shown, if the person is listed as alive, unknown or deceased.
In the Facts section of individual records you will see entries that look a bit like:
01 Jan 1960
Auckland, New Zealand
About Jul 1970
These are the known details for people in the index. Living individuals, to respect their privacy, have limited information available.
The fact type, date and location are shown in order on the left side. Dates may display as "????" if only the location is known. Dates may also show "About" to indicate that the date is not exactly known, it has either been calculated/estimated from another date or has been collected from a quarterly record (About Jan could indicate the Jan-Mar quarter).
If the fact has a citation/source, grey buttons can be seen in the top right and hovering over them will display the source. For exact source details you are welcome to contact me.
